Quick Answer: What is a white label SEO report?

A white label SEO report is a performance report that a fulfillment partner or reporting tool produces, but your agency sends under its own brand. It carries your logo, domain, sender address and voice, with no partner or tool names. A good one ties Search Console, GA4 and Google Business Profile data to leads or sales, lists the work done and says what happens next.

Key Observations

  • Google now reports AI search impressions. Search Console’s Generative AI report, rolled out worldwide by August 31, 2026, covers AI Overviews and AI Mode but shows impressions only.
  • Ahrefs reports cannot be white labeled, per its help center, so agencies pull Ahrefs data into another tool.
  • Looker Studio is Data Studio again. Google restored the name on April 10, 2026. The free edition sends one scheduled email per report, at most daily.
  • White label is often a paid tier. Semrush removes its branding on $20 Pro reports, not $10 Base reports.
  • Search Console keeps 16 months, so year-on-year reports need your own exports.

Which report goes to the agency and which goes to the client?

A white label setup usually runs on two reports: the partner’s internal report to the agency, and the agency’s report to the client. Mixing them up is how partner names, notes and costs reach clients.

Partner to agency (internal)Agency to client (white label)
PurposeProve the work, flag risks, ask for decisionsShow business progress in your brand
ContentsTask log with URLs, issues found, access or approval requests, raw exportsSummary, outcomes, visibility, work done, next steps
BrandingPartner’s own format is fineYour logo, domain, sender and voice only

Is a white label SEO platform the same as a white label report?

No. A white label SEO platform is software your team uses under your brand: rank tracking, audits, client dashboards and logins, such as SE Ranking with its Agency Pack or AgencyAnalytics. A white label SEO service is a partner doing the work. Many agencies use both: a platform for the client view and a partner for delivery.

What should a white label SEO report include?

Lead with outcomes, then visibility, then proof of work. This outline is our working template for a monthly report, not an industry standard.

Note: Search Console data reaches GA4 48 hours after collection, and the linked GA4 reports only break down by landing page, device and country. Pull query detail from Search Console itself.

How do you show local SEO results in a partner report?

Use Google Business Profile performance data for actions: calls, direction requests, website clicks, and messages or bookings where they apply. Google counts a person’s profile view once a day, so views are unique visitors, not page loads. For several locations, download the insights spreadsheet from Business Profile Manager.

Add map rankings from a grid tracker. Our white label local SEO page explains the access setup behind this data.

How do you report AI search visibility without overclaiming?

  • Google: the Generative AI performance report in Search Console shows impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode by page, country, date and device. Clicks from those features stay blended into the Web search type of the main Performance report.
  • AI assistants: GA4’s AI Assistant channel groups visits from sources such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Deepseek, Copilot and Grok. It excludes AI Overviews and AI Mode.
  • Bing: AI Performance in Bing Webmaster Tools, in public preview since February 10, 2026, shows citations in Copilot and Bing AI summaries, plus a sample of grounding queries.
  • Everything else: run a fixed prompt list each month and report mentions and citations separately, labeled as a sample.

Never promise AI placement. Our monthly SEO report guide covers the GA4 and Search Console setup, and the AI visibility checker gives a quick baseline.

What should you leave out of a white label SEO report?

  • Anything that names the partner: staff names, email signatures, chat screenshots, file names and PDF metadata.
  • Tool branding your plan does not remove: logos, footers, watermarks and “data from” lines.
  • Third-party traffic estimates in place of Search Console and GA4 numbers.
  • Vanity metrics as KPIs: authority scores, raw backlink counts and lists of hundreds of keywords.
  • Internal economics: partner hours, costs and your margin.
  • Every crawler warning. Report what changed and what was fixed.

The same rules apply to paid media, which our guide to white label PPC reporting covers.

Should clients get a live dashboard or a PDF report?

FormatBest forStrengthWatch out for
Live dashboardClients who check often, multi-location brandsCurrent data, filters, self-serveNumbers with no explanation; preliminary data read as final
PDF reportOwners, executives, monthly reviewsA fixed record with your commentaryOut of date soon after it is sent
BothMost retainersDashboard for checking, PDF for decisionsTwo outputs to keep consistent

Our recommendation is both: a scheduled PDF with a written summary for the decision maker, and a dashboard link for everyone else.

What are the benefits of white label SEO dashboards?

A branded dashboard gives clients a login on your domain and current data between reports. The catch is that a dashboard explains nothing on its own, so pair it with a written monthly summary.

Which tools automate white label SEO reporting?

Most white label SEO platforms price per client, dashboard or location. Prices below are as published on October 22, 2026.

Can you white label Ahrefs or Semrush dashboards?

Semrush, yes, on Pro reports in My Reports. Ahrefs, not inside Ahrefs: its help center says it does not currently allow white labeling of its reports. Agencies pull Ahrefs data into a reporting tool, which AgencyAnalytics says needs a paid Ahrefs plan with API access and credits, or use Ahrefs’ Looker Studio templates with their own logo, as Ahrefs described in 2024.

Are there free white label SEO reports?

Data Studio is the realistic free option. Connect Search Console and GA4, build one branded template, copy it per client and embed it on your site, which Google allows on any iframe-enabled website. Free limits: one schedule per report, 50 recipients, and 200 emails a day for individual accounts. Paid tools’ 14-day trials are not free plans.

How do you create and automate a white label SEO report?

  1. Agree the KPIs at onboarding: which GA4 key events count as leads, which pages and keywords matter, who receives the report and on what date.
  2. Set access correctly. The client stays the owner of Search Console, GA4 and Business Profile. The partner gets user or manager access. Search Console allows up to 100 non-owner users per property, and a Restricted user can view most data.
  3. Connect sources: Search Console, GA4, Business Profile, your rank tracker and, where useful, Bing Webmaster Tools.
  4. Build one template from the nine sections above, then copy it per client.
  5. Brand every layer: logo, colors, domain, sender address, PDF file name and footer.
  6. Schedule delivery within your tool’s limits, on a fixed date each month.
  7. Write the summary by hand and check totals against live data before sending.

Automated numbers often differ from what clients see in Search Console. Our guide to automated SEO reports explains why and how to label it.

How often should white label SEO reports go out?

Monthly, on a fixed date, suits most retainers. Add short weekly notes only during migrations, launches or major Google updates. Hold a quarterly review against goals with a full technical audit, and export Search Console data every year, because it keeps only 16 months.

Which reporting mistakes cost agencies clients?

  • Leading with rankings when the client cares about leads and sales.
  • Irregular send dates, so reports pile up unread.
  • Partial white labeling: a vendor name left in a URL, sender address or PDF footer.
  • Mismatched conversions: GA4 key events that do not match what the client counts as a lead.

FAQs

What is the difference between a white label and a co-branded SEO report?

A white label report shows only your agency’s brand. A co-branded report shows your brand next to another, usually a software vendor, as in “powered by” a tool. Co-branding works when clients know your tools. White label is the norm when a partner does the work and your agency owns the client relationship.

Which tools are best for automating white label SEO reporting?

There is no single best tool. Data Studio is free if you can build templates. AgencyAnalytics, DashThis and Swydo suit agencies wanting client logins and scheduled delivery, Semrush and SE Ranking suit their existing users, and BrightLocal suits local-first agencies. Compare data sources, branding depth and cost per client.

Can I white label an Ahrefs report?

Not inside Ahrefs, whose help center says it does not currently allow white labeling of its reports. Instead, pull Ahrefs data into a reporting tool that supports it, which AgencyAnalytics says needs a paid Ahrefs plan with API access and credits, or use Ahrefs’ Looker Studio templates with your own logo.

Is there a free way to create white label SEO reports?

Yes. Data Studio is free and connects to Search Console and GA4. Build one branded template, copy it per client and embed it on your own site. The free edition allows one email schedule per report, at most once a day, and Google’s email quotas apply, so it suits a small client list.

What should a white label SEO report hide from the end client?

Hide anything that reveals the partner or your costs: partner and staff names, email signatures, file metadata, tool logos and watermarks, internal hours and margins. Also leave out raw crawler warnings and third-party traffic estimates. Keep the client’s own data, the work done and your next steps, written in your agency’s voice.

How often should agencies send white label SEO reports?

Monthly suits most retainers. Send short weekly notes during migrations, launches or major Google updates, and hold a quarterly review where scope and budget decisions get made. Pick a fixed send date and keep to it, because an irregular schedule is one of the common reasons clients stop reading agency reports.

Can a white label SEO report show AI Overviews and ChatGPT traffic?

Partly. Search Console’s Generative AI performance report shows impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode, but not clicks. GA4’s AI Assistant channel shows visits from ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and similar assistants. Bing Webmaster Tools shows Copilot citations. For anything else, report a fixed monthly prompt check, labeled as a sample.

How we created this guide

We read the current top-ranking US guides on white label SEO reports. Tool features and prices come from each vendor’s own pricing, feature or help pages, checked on October 22, 2026. Data source limits come from Google, Microsoft and Ahrefs documentation. Practitioner input comes from Local Search Forum threads and a Search Engine Journal article on why clients skip reports. AI tools helped organize notes, and every fact links to its source.
