Shopify SEO Expert and Specialist for Hands-On Store Fixes
Theme Fixes, Collections, Schema and AI Search
Shopify SEO Expert Who Works Inside Your Theme and Admin
A Shopify SEO expert finds what is stopping your store from ranking and fixes it inside your theme and admin: collection structure, filter and tag pages, product copy, schema, speed and redirects. Our SEO work starts at $500 a month on a written scope. If you would rather have a plan your own team ships, our Shopify SEO consultant service fits better. For the plan and the work from one team, see our Shopify SEO agency, and our AI SEO company page explains how we work on AI search visibility.

A Shopify SEO Specialist Team From a 6x Clutch Award-Winning Agency
Work with a Shopify SEO specialist team led by Ishant Sharma, founder of Hustle Marketers. As Shopify SEO experts, we handle the platform's quirks, from fixed /products/ and /collections/ URL paths and duplicate product URLs to app bloat and theme speed. We are a Google Partner, Meta Business Partner and Microsoft Advertising Partner, rated 4.9 out of 5 from 591+ reviews across platforms.

What Does a Shopify SEO Expert Do for Your Store?
A Shopify SEO expert, often called a Shopify SEO specialist, does the hands-on SEO work in your store. That means fixing theme links to collection-path product URLs, deciding which filter and tag pages Google should index, rewriting collection and product copy, filling schema gaps and cleaning up leftover app code.
The two titles overlap. What matters more is whether the person implements changes or only recommends them. Our specialist work is hands-on: changes are made on a duplicate of your live theme and published after you approve.
Expert, Consultant or Agency: Which Do You Need?
Hire a Shopify SEO expert or specialist when you need someone to make the changes in your theme and admin for a defined job, such as fixing duplicate collection-path links, cleaning up after a migration or filling schema gaps.
Hire a consultant when your own team will make the changes and you need an audit, a plan and reviews. Hire an agency when you want the plan, the work and the reporting from one team.
Whichever you choose, ask who does the work, where they are based and what is written into the scope. We put all three in writing before work starts.

Can a Shopify SEO Expert Help You Show Up in AI Search?
Yes, mostly through the same work that helps Google. AI tools need pages they can crawl, products described clearly in text and a brand that other sites mention. Google says no special files or markup are needed for its AI features.
Our specialist makes sure product details sit in the page HTML, that your Merchant Center feed matches what the page says, and that collection and buying guide content answers the questions shoppers ask AI tools.
We do not sell llms.txt as a ranking fix. Shopify already publishes an agents.md file on every store, and Google says it ignores AI text files like llms.txt.
What Can You Hire Our Shopify SEO Expert
to Fix?
These are the jobs our Shopify SEO specialist does most, inside your theme and admin. Each one can be a one-off project or part of a monthly plan.
Shopify Technical SEO
Theme links to collection-path product URLs, filter and tag indexing, redirects from broken URLs and robots.txt rules, fixed on a duplicate theme and published after you approve.
Product Page SEO
Unique titles, descriptions and specifications for products with search demand, written in Shopify's native fields so the work stays if an app is removed.
Collection Page SEO
Clear target searches, intro copy that keeps products on the first screen, and buying guide content below the product grid.
Keyword Research & Buyer Intent
Keywords grouped by intent and mapped to collections, products and blog posts, so each page targets one clear search.
Site Speed & Core Web Vitals Optimization
Unused apps removed, leftover app code cleaned out of the theme and images compressed, checked against real user Core Web Vitals data.
AI SEO & Product Discovery
Product data in the page HTML, a Merchant Center feed that matches the page, and checks of how your store appears in AI answers.
Internal Linking
Breadcrumbs, related collections and blog links that send authority to the collections and products that make money.
Editorial Link Building
Editorial placements and digital PR, with every target site reviewed before outreach. No paid links or private blog networks.
Ongoing SEO Support
Monthly checks after theme and app updates, so fixes stay fixed and new problems are caught early.
Which AI Search Tools Do We Check for Shopify Stores?
We check the AI tools your buyers use, from a prompt list agreed with you, and report where your store is mentioned or cited and which pages are used as sources.

ChatGPT
We check whether ChatGPT mentions your store for the agreed prompts, and which of your pages it cites when it searches the web.

Google Gemini
We record whether Gemini names your store for the prompts on the list, and which sources it shows.

Perplexity AI
Perplexity lists its sources with each answer, so we report which of your pages are cited and which competitors appear instead.

Microsoft Copilot
When Copilot looks things up on the web, it uses Bing search, so we pair prompt checks with Bing Webmaster Tools data.

Claude AI
We run the agreed prompts in Claude and note whether your store is mentioned and how it is described.
You.com
We include You.com when your buyers use it, and track it against the same prompt list.

How Do We Report Shopify SEO Results?
Every report comes from your own Search Console and analytics, so you can check the numbers yourself. We split brand from non-brand searches, because brand demand usually grows with ads and word of mouth rather than SEO.
Client results stay in their own reviews, in their own words. The sections below explain how our specialist handles AI search, structured data and speed on a Shopify store.
How does Shopify SEO work for AI search and AI Overviews?
Shopify stores already ship the files people are told to add. Every store serves agents.md, and llms.txt and llms-full.txt mirror it by default. Google states that it ignores those files and that they neither help nor harm visibility in Google Search, so nobody should be selling them to you as a ranking factor. They exist so agentic shopping surfaces can read your catalog.
What actually moves AI visibility for a store is the same thing that moves Shopping visibility: a clean, complete product feed. Google points at Merchant Center feeds rather than markup for ecommerce in AI surfaces.
There are now two places to measure it. Search Console has a generative AI performance report covering AI Overviews and AI Mode, reporting impressions only. Merchant Center has AI performance insights for conversational shopping queries, including share of voice against competitors, available for English language queries in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the United States. Your specialist sets both up, baselines them in month one and reports on them monthly alongside organic.
Which AI surfaces does your specialist work on?
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT Shopping, Perplexity, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Shopify’s own Catalog makes eligible products discoverable to AI channels automatically, and products can be removed from individual channels or set to unlisted. We tell you which setting your store is on before anything changes. Our wider AI search work runs on the same method.
What structured data does your Shopify store actually emit?
Less than most store owners assume. Shopify’s theme filter outputs name, image, offers, brand, category, description, availability and url. That clears Google’s required fields for merchant listings, so your products are eligible.
It omits sku, gtin, mpn, aggregateRating, review, shippingDetails, hasMerchantReturnPolicy, itemCondition and priceValidUntil, along with the variant properties productGroupID, variesBy and hasVariant.
The missing review and rating fields are the technical reason a review app is needed for star ratings. The missing shipping and returns fields are why some stores never get the shipping and returns annotations in merchant listings. Your specialist extends the schema through metafields and revalidates it after every theme update, because Shopify’s own output has regressed before. The full list of what breaks is in our guide to Shopify SEO issues.
Why does the product feed matter for SEO, not just ads?
Because free listings in Google Merchant Center put products into organic surfaces at no media cost, and because Google points at feeds rather than markup for ecommerce in AI surfaces. A disapproved or thin feed costs you the organic placement as well as the paid one, so the feed and the on-site product data are worked as one job. That is product feed optimization and free listings in Google Merchant Center running alongside the SEO.
What PageSpeed score can a Shopify store realistically reach?
Lower than the promises you have been given. In a study of more than 400 active Shopify stores, those running one or two detectable apps averaged 53 out of 100 on mobile. Stores with 16 or more averaged 38.3. The average store in that sample ran about six apps.
Shopify’s own Theme Store entry bar is an average Lighthouse score of 60 across home, product and collection. Shopify grades an app’s performance impact on a weighting of home 17 percent, product 40 percent and collection 43 percent, so product and collection templates carry 83 percent of the weight, and they are also where your organic traffic lands.
Your specialist works on the real user Core Web Vitals in your Shopify web performance dashboard rather than a lab score. That data is delayed by up to 36 hours, covers a rolling 30 days and is only kept for 90 days, so it gets baselined in week one.
Why did the store get slower after we removed apps?
Because uninstalling an app does not remove the code it added to your theme. Leftovers sit in script and link tags in theme.liquid, in snippets and their render calls, in custom Liquid sections and in orphaned assets. Cleaning that up is part of onboarding, not an upsell.
Do you work on Shopify Plus, Hydrogen and headless builds?
Yes, and the work is not the same on each. On Online Store 2.0 Liquid themes you get automatic canonicals, automatic hreflang through content_for_header, an auto-generated sitemap and product schema from a theme filter, so most of the work is collection architecture, template level optimization, metafields and speed.
On Hydrogen you get almost none of that for free. Meta tags are implemented per route, sitemap.xml and robots.txt are generated through the CLI and JSON-LD is configured by hand. Hydrogen also strips query parameters from canonical URLs by default, which changes how filtered and variant URLs behave. On Shopify Plus the differences that matter are B2B catalogs, multiple storefronts, Markets configuration and the scale at which collection and filter limits start to bite.
What limits do we design around?
Shopify allows up to 25 filters per store with a maximum of 100 values displayed per filter, and collections over 5,000 products do not display filters at all. Most themes support two levels of nested menus, which is three levels in total, so anything deeper has to be carried by collection to collection linking and breadcrumbs. For the platform level view, see our guide to Shopify SEO.

Shopify SEO Expert FAQs
What does a Shopify SEO expert or specialist do?
They do the hands-on SEO work in your store: theme fixes for collection-path product links, filter and tag indexing, collection and product copy, schema gaps, redirects and speed. The two titles describe the same job in practice. What matters is that the person implements changes, not only recommends them.
Is Shopify good for SEO compared to other platforms?
Yes. Shopify handles canonical tags, the sitemap and some robots.txt rules by default. The trade-offs are fixed /products/ and /collections/ paths, robots.txt edits that Shopify calls an unsupported customization, and redirects that only work from broken URLs.
How long does Shopify SEO take to show results?
Technical fixes can show within days or weeks once Google recrawls. Collection and product improvements often take a few weeks to a few months, and new content for competitive searches usually takes three to six months. Google’s SEO Starter Guide says some changes might take effect in a few hours, while others could take several months.
Can Shopify SEO increase sales and conversions?
It can, when the work targets searches that lead to orders. Collections and product pages usually carry that demand, so we start there and measure it with your Shopify sales data and non-brand organic search.
What is AI SEO for Shopify stores?
It means making your store easy for AI tools to read and recommend: product details in the page HTML, clear collection and buying guide content, a clean Merchant Center feed and mentions on sites that review your category. Google says no special files or markup are needed for its AI features.
Do Shopify stores need technical SEO?
Yes, but less than many audits suggest. Shopify handles canonicals, the sitemap and some robots.txt rules by default. The technical work is usually theme links to collection-path product URLs, filter and tag indexing, schema gaps, redirects and leftover app code.
Can Shopify stores rank on the first page of Google?
Yes. Shopify stores rank well when collections target real searches and the theme does not get in the way. Nobody can promise a first-page ranking, and Google’s own guidance says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.
What industries benefit from Shopify SEO services?
Any category where buyers search before they buy. We plan most often for fashion, beauty, home, electronics, health and wellness, sports, pets and multi-category stores, and the collection structure changes with each one.
How does AI search impact Shopify SEO?
It adds new places to be found, built on the same foundations. AI tools rely on crawlable pages and clear product data, just as Google does. We include AI search checks in the work rather than selling them as a separate package.
Why choose Hustle Marketers as your Shopify SEO expert?
Ishant Sharma, who has worked in digital marketing since 2013, leads the work. Changes go onto a duplicate theme first, we never need your store password, and we report from your own Search Console and analytics. We hold 4.9 out of 5 from 591 reviews and a 5.0 rating on Clutch from 50+ reviews.
Who owns the content and data you create?
You do. Content, technical fixes and reports are yours, and your Google Search Console, Google Analytics and website access stay in your name. We are added as users, so nothing is lost if you change providers.
How do you report SEO progress?
You get a monthly report covering rankings for agreed keywords, organic traffic, leads or sales from organic search, and the work completed and planned. We focus on business results rather than ranking screenshots alone.
Where is your team based?
Our team is based in Zirakpur, India, and works with clients worldwide, including the US, UK, Canada and Australia. SEO plans start from $500 a month and are scoped to your site and goals.
