Your sales depend on a few gifting dates, and you are weighing whether to hire a jewelry marketing agency. This guide covers what a good agency does on each channel, the Google and Meta rules that trip jewelry accounts up, what agencies charge in the US and Australia, and what to ask before you sign.

Quick Answer: what does a jewelry marketing agency do, and is it worth hiring one?

A jewelry marketing agency runs the paid and organic channels that bring buyers to your store: Google Search, Shopping and Performance Max ads, the Merchant Center product feed, Meta ads and SEO. It is worth hiring one when your feed, ad policy issues and seasonal peaks cost you more in missed sales than the monthly fee.

Key Observations

  • Google Shopping and Performance Max ads are built from your product feed, so the feed matters as much as the ads.
  • Google files jewelry under Apparel & Accessories, so gender, age group and color are required for US Shopping ads.
  • Lab-created and simulated stones need a clear disclosure in US ads under the FTC Jewelry Guides.
  • Mother’s Day falls on the same Sunday in the US and Australia; Father’s Day does not (June vs September).
  • Hustle Marketers charges $600 to $800 per platform per month, month to month, and you keep your ad accounts.

Here is how the main channels compare for a jewelry business:

ChannelWhat the agency doesJewelry watch-out
Google Shopping and Performance MaxBuilds campaigns by collection or product type, sets value targetsDisapprovals and “limited by policy” asset groups
Merchant Center feedFixes attributes, titles, categories and identifiersGender, age group, color and metal material
Google SearchCaptures brand, store and gift searchesStone and metal claims in ad text
Meta adsRuns catalog and creative ads on Facebook and InstagramCopies of branded designs (IP policy)

What does a jewelry marketing agency do on each channel?

A jewelry marketing agency manages the channels that turn searches and scrolls into orders. For online jewelry stores that usually starts with Google Ads, because Shopping ads show the piece and its price to someone ready to buy:

  • Google Ads Search for brand, store and gift searches
  • Shopping and Performance Max for product image ads
  • Merchant Center for the product feed behind those ads
  • Meta ads for launches and retargeting
  • SEO for pages that rank without a cost per click
  • Microsoft Ads for Bing search and Shopping ads
  • Local SEO for stores with a showroom or studio
  • Conversion tracking and landing pages so every channel is judged on sales
  • AI search so ChatGPT and Google AI Mode can recommend your pieces (see below)

Google Ads Search: who is searching for your store or brand?

Google Ads Search shows text ads for typed searches, such as your brand name, your town or a gift occasion. A good agency starts new campaigns on exact match until there is conversion data, keeps negative keywords at account level, and keeps ad text inside the stone disclosure rules below.

Google Shopping and Performance Max: where does most jewelry spend go?

Shopping and Performance Max (PMax) campaigns use your product feed to show image ads across Google. For jewelry, splitting campaigns by collection or product type gives each its own budget and value target. See Performance Max vs Search and our Google Shopping ads agency page.

Merchant Center feed: why does the feed decide what you can advertise?

Google Merchant Center holds the product data that Shopping and PMax read. A ring missing its gender or color attribute can be limited before any bid matters. An agency should audit the feed against Merchant Center requirements, then improve it through product feed optimization. See also Performance Max and feed optimization and custom labels by margin tier for bidding harder on high-margin pieces.

The same feed also powers free listings, which show your products on Google surfaces such as the Shopping tab without a cost per click, so feed quality helps organic sales as well as ads. Our guides cover the jewelry feed jobs that come up most:

Meta ads: what do Facebook and Instagram add for jewelry?

Meta ads reach people before they search, which suits new collections, gifting pushes and retargeting. A good agency connects the catalog, tests creative and keeps ads clear of Meta’s rules on third-party infringement, which matters if any design is “inspired by” a famous brand.

SEO: how does it fit with paid ads?

SEO builds category and collection pages that rank without a cost per click, but it takes longer than ads. Organic keyword research and feed rules are covered in our jewelry SEO guide, and for stores on Shopify our Shopify SEO agency page covers the platform side: theme speed, collection pages and duplicate product URLs.

Microsoft Ads: is Bing worth it for jewelry?

Microsoft Ads is worth testing once Google Ads is profitable, because it reaches Bing searchers with the same Search and Shopping formats at a smaller scale. Shopping ads on Bing read a product catalog in Microsoft Merchant Center, so the jewelry attributes you fix for Google carry over. See our guides to Bing Merchant Center and the Bing Shopping feed, or our Bing Ads agency page.

Local SEO: what if you have a showroom or studio?

Jewelry stores with a showroom, bridal studio or repair counter should treat Google Business Profile as a sales channel, because ring and repair buyers often search nearby. Google ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, according to Google Business Profile help, so complete categories, photos, opening hours and steady reviews matter. Our local SEO services page explains how we run it.

Conversion tracking and landing pages: how do you know which ads sell?

Every channel should be judged on purchases and revenue, not clicks. That means purchase tracking with order values in Google Ads, Meta and Microsoft Ads, checked against Shopify orders, so Shopping and Performance Max can bid on revenue. Our Google Ads conversion tracking guide covers the setup. Once tracking is right, product and collection pages decide how much of that paid traffic buys, which is where conversion rate optimization comes in: clear photos, price, sizing, delivery dates and returns near the add to cart button.

What Google and Meta rules apply to jewelry ads?

Jewelry ads face three sets of rules: Merchant Center attributes, product restrictions, and claim rules on stones. Knowing them is a quick test of whether an agency has run jewelry accounts.

Which Merchant Center attributes does jewelry need?

Google’s product taxonomy lists jewelry as Apparel & Accessories > Jewelry (ID 188), with subcategories such as Rings (200), Earrings (194), Necklaces (196), Bracelets (191) and Watches (201). That brings apparel rules with it:

AttributeGoogle’s rule for Apparel & Accessories (ID 166)What it means for jewelry
genderRequired for free listings; required for Shopping ads in the US, UK, Brazil, France, Germany and JapanSet female, male or unisex on every piece
age_groupSame countries and rule as genderUsually adult; kids for children’s pieces
colorSame countries and rule as genderMetal or main stone color, such as silver or rose gold
materialRequired when variants differ by materialGoogle advises a color and a material for precious metals

Which jewelry products are restricted in Google and Meta ads?

Products from threatened or endangered species are not allowed in Google Merchant Center; its inappropriate content policy names elephant ivory and elkhorn coral as examples. Counterfeit goods are the other risk:

  • Replica wording: Google’s Manufacturer Center policy treats products described as knock off, replica, imitation, clone, faux or fake as counterfeit-related, so test terms like “faux pearl” with care.
  • Brand look-alikes: the same policy covers products that mimic another product’s brand features.
  • Meta: Meta’s Advertising Standards have a section on third-party intellectual property infringement, so copied designs put the ad account at risk there too.

What gemstone and metal claims need care in US ads?

The FTC Jewelry Guides set how US sellers describe stones. In March 2019 the FTC sent warning letters to diamond companies that cited these rules:

  • Section 23.25(b): using a stone’s name, such as “ruby” or “diamond”, for a lab-created or simulated stone is deceptive unless a clear disclosure like “laboratory-created” or “simulated” comes right before it.
  • Section 23.12(c)(3): “cultured” is allowed for lab-created diamonds only with a clear disclosure that they are not mined.
  • Green claims: the letters also warned against unqualified “eco-friendly” and “sustainable” claims.

This is general information, not legal advice.

When does jewelry demand peak in the US and Australia?

Jewelry demand peaks around gifting dates, and the dates differ by market. Mother’s Day is the second Sunday of May in both the US and Australia, while Father’s Day is in June in the US and on the first Sunday of September in Australia. The table lists the next dates:

OccasionUnited StatesAustralia
Black FridayFri 27 Nov 2026 (Cyber Monday 30 Nov)Same Friday, as the date follows US Thanksgiving
Christmas DayFri 25 Dec 2026Fri 25 Dec 2026 (summer)
Valentine’s DaySun 14 Feb 2027Sun 14 Feb 2027
Mother’s DaySun 9 May 2027Sun 9 May 2027
Father’s DaySun 20 Jun 2027Sun 5 Sep 2027 (6 Sep in 2026)

Sources: Calendar-365 2026 and 2027 (US), PublicHolidays.com.au and timeanddate (Australia), read 21 October 2026.

Feed fixes and new campaigns should go live weeks before each date, because automated bidding needs time to adjust, and shipping cut-offs cap how late an ad is worth paying for.

How much does a jewelry marketing agency cost?

Paid ads agencies usually charge a flat monthly fee, a percentage of ad spend, an hourly rate, or a hybrid. OuterBox’s pricing guide, updated 8 September 2026, gives these US planning ranges:

Fee modelTypical range (USD)Best for
Flat monthly fee, $1,000 to $5,000 ad spend$500 to $2,000 a monthSmall and growing stores
Flat monthly fee, $5,000 to $25,000 ad spend$1,500 to $5,000 a monthEstablished brands
Percentage of ad spendAbout 10% to 20% of spend, often with a minimumLarger budgets
Hourly consultingAbout $75 to $250+ an hourAudits and one-off fixes

Source: OuterBox, PPC management pricing. These are market figures, not Hustle Marketers’ prices.

What does Hustle Marketers charge?

Hustle Marketers charges $600 to $800 per platform per month for PPC management, month to month with no lock-in. Your ad spend is separate and is billed by Google or Meta to your own account. For Australian brands, that fee is about A$860 to A$1,146 per platform per month, converted from USD at 1.4327 (USD/AUD close on 20 October 2026, Pound Sterling Live). See ecommerce PPC management services for the full scope.

What must an agency tell you about fees?

Google’s transparency requirements for third parties say agencies must disclose management fees in writing before your first purchase and on every invoice. Reported cost must be the exact amount Google charged, excluding agency fees.

What should you ask a jewelry marketing agency before you hire?

Seven questions for a jewelry marketing agency about account ownership, campaign structure, feed fixes, policies, measurement, fees and dated proof.

Ask questions that test jewelry experience, ownership and measurement, and get the answers in writing:

  1. Who owns the accounts? Google Ads, Merchant Center, Meta and analytics should sit in your name.
  2. How will you structure Shopping and PMax? Listen for collection splits and value-based bidding.
  3. What will you fix in my feed first? Expect attributes, categories and titles.
  4. How do you handle policy limits? Ask how they resolve disapprovals and misrepresentation suspensions.
  5. What do you report? Conversion value should reconcile with real store orders.
  6. What is the fee, and is there a lock-in? Get the minimum term and exit terms.
  7. Can I see a dated jewelry result? A screenshot with a date range beats a percentage on a slide.

Why does account ownership matter so much?

Account ownership decides whether your conversion history survives a change of agency. If an agency builds the account under its own login and leaves, your bidding data can go with it. Hustle Marketers works inside accounts the client owns. If you sell on Shopify, our Shopify marketing page explains how store, feed and ads connect.

Jewelry vs jewellery: how do US and Australian owners search for an agency?

US owners type “jewelry” and Australian owners type “jewellery” when they look for help. Semrush data from 21 October 2026:

  • US: “jewelry marketing agency” gets about 320 searches a month, “jewelry advertising” 260 and “jewelry store marketing agency” 210.
  • Australia: “jewellery seo agency” gets about 170 searches a month and “jewellery marketing agency” about 20.
  • Cost per click: “jewelry marketing agency” carries a US CPC of $12.90, a sign of strong hiring intent.

Shoppers split the same way, so a brand selling in both markets needs ads, titles and pages in each market’s spelling. See our multi-currency Shopify feed setup guide.

What should Australian jewellery brands know before hiring an agency?

Australian jewellery brands face a different calendar, currency and Merchant Center rules from US brands. Christmas falls in summer, Father’s Day is the first Sunday of September, and Mother’s Day shares the US date.

  • Feed rules: Australia is not on Google’s Shopping ads list for gender, age group and color, but free listings still require them, so fill them anyway.
  • Claims: the FTC Jewelry Guides are a US standard; check Australian consumer law for the same claims.
  • Fees in AUD: our PPC fee is about A$860 to A$1,146 per platform per month, converted from USD $600 to $800 at the 20 October 2026 rate.
  • Where the work happens: our delivery team is in Zirakpur, India. We have no Australian office or entity.

How do jewelry brands get recommended in ChatGPT and Google AI Mode?

Jewelry brands get recommended in AI shopping answers mainly through complete product data and consistent proof across the web. Google says shopping in AI Mode runs on its Shopping Graph of more than 50 billion product listings, and ChatGPT’s merchant program reads a product feed with price, availability, media and reviews. The feed work that improves Shopping ads serves both.

  • Complete feed data: titles, material, color, gemstone and size written the way buyers describe a piece, because AI Mode can answer shopping questions with product comparison tables.
  • Reviews and ratings: OpenAI lists reviews among the recommended feed attributes that improve ranking and relevance in ChatGPT.
  • Answer-ready pages: collection, care, sizing and returns pages that state facts in plain sentences an assistant can quote.
  • Consistent brand facts: the same business name, location and claims on your site, Google Business Profile and review platforms.

Jewelry marketing agency FAQs

How much does a jewelry marketing agency charge?

Market ranges run from about $500 to $2,000 a month for smaller budgets, or 10% to 20% of ad spend (OuterBox, September 2026). Hustle Marketers charges $600 to $800 per platform per month.

Is Google Ads or Facebook ads better for jewelry?

Google Ads usually comes first, because Shopping and Performance Max reach people already searching for a piece. Meta ads suit launches and retargeting, and many brands run both.

Is jewelry considered apparel in Google Shopping?

Yes. Google’s taxonomy places Jewelry (ID 188) under Apparel & Accessories, so gender, age group and color are required for free listings and for US Shopping ads.

Why are my jewelry ads limited by policy?

Common causes are missing apparel attributes, restricted materials like ivory or coral, and replica-style wording. Check each item’s policy detail, fix the cause, then request a review. Our Merchant Center errors guide walks through common fixes.

Should I hire a jewelry specialist agency or a general ecommerce agency?

Either can work. Ask for a dated jewelry account result and an explanation of the feed attributes and policy rules above; a good answer shows they know the category.

How long does it take to see results from a jewelry ads agency?

Paid ads can produce sales within weeks once tracking and the feed are clean. MiKi Jewellery’s account went from zero spend on 5 September 2026 to 7.81 conversion value per cost by 21 October. Results depend on budget, margins and season.

How much ad budget does a jewelry store need?

There is no single number; match budget to margins and search demand. As one example, MiKi Jewellery’s five Performance Max campaigns ran on about A$85 a day combined.

Can an agency outside Australia run ads for an Australian jewellery store?

Yes. These platforms are managed online, so knowing Australian dates, spelling and AUD reporting matters more than location. Hustle Marketers runs Australian accounts from Zirakpur, India.

Do I need SEO as well as paid ads?

Ads bring sales this season while SEO builds pages that rank over time. Our jewelry SEO guide covers the organic side.
